Sound Inhabitants

Sound Inhabitants is constructed out of contrasting blocks of sound. These are heard individually and in layers that overlap, collage-like. During the writing process, I deliberately eschewed motivic development and transition. Instead, my aim was to create sound states or spaces. Rooms of sound that can be inhabited. – Sam Fernando

This film was recorded as part of the London Sinfonietta Academy’s “Musicians of Tomorrow” Concert in July 2023. The performance featured and was co-produced as part of Folkestone New Music.
